Guests will then proceed to the Palm Room at Palmetto Bay Village Center for a delightful dinner followed by dessert and music out by the bay. Artists being featured during the festival will be around to mix and mingle with you through out the evening. |

The Moth Story Tour

The SoBay Festival kicks-off at Palmetto Bay Village Center with an evening of storytelling presented by The Moth, “New York’s hottest and hippest literary ticket” (The Wall Street Journal), making its first South Florida appearance!
Tonight storytellers will each tell a twelve-minute, well-crafted, first-person narrative based around the evening’s theme, Out on a Limb: Stories from the Edge. No script or notes are allowed! Storytellers will include The Moth’s frequent New York contributors Jonathan Ames, author of Wake Up, Sir! and What's Not to Love? and Andy Borowitz, author of The Borowitz Report and writer for The New Yorker and Newsweek. You also won’t want to miss the stories of some of your favorite locals such as award-winning journalist and radio host, Jim DeFede. |

Drama comes to life at Palmetto Bay Village Center with the EDGE Theatre’s presentation of In the Garden by Norman Allen.
In the Garden depicts four urban sophisticates whose lives are rocked by the arrival of a young man, Gabe, who is everything but what he seems. With unworldly charisma, Gabe constructs a web of seduction and theology. A professor of philosophy, his fashionista wife, and their glib young friends must rise to the boy's challenges, questioning their lives as they question his very identity. With high comedy and thought-provoking drama, In the Garden is an uber-theatrical rollercoaster ride. |
