SoBay Stars Progressive Dinner January 25, 2007 Cocktails begin at 6:30 PM Exclusive VIP preview event You’re a Star! Or at least you’ll feel like one at this exclusive progressive dinner. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will begin on the enchanting Deering Estate at Cutler grounds. Guests will then proceed to the Palm Room at Palmetto Bay Village Center for a delightful dinner followed by dessert and music out by the bay. Artists being featured during the festival will be around to mix and mingle with you through out the evening.

The Moth Story Tour February 2, 2007 Palmetto Bay Village Center Doors open at 7:00 PM / Show begins at 8:00 PM $40 general admission Content may not be suitable for children under 17 years of age. Parental discretion is advised. The SoBay Festival kicks-off at Palmetto Bay Village Center with an evening of storytelling presented by The Moth, “New York’s hottest and hippest literary ticket” (The Wall Street Journal), making its first South Florida appearance! Tonight storytellers will each tell a twelve-minute, well-crafted, first-person narrative based around the evening’s theme, Out on a Limb: Stories from the Edge. No script or notes are allowed! Storytellers will include The Moth’s frequent New York contributors Jonathan Ames, author of Wake Up, Sir! and What's Not to Love? and Andy Borowitz, author of The Borowitz Report and writer for The New Yorker and Newsweek. You also won’t want to miss the stories of some of your favorite locals such as award-winning journalist and radio host, Jim DeFede.

Book Reading by the Bay Presented by Books & Books February 6, 2007 Deering Estate at Cutler Gate opens at 7:00 PM / Reading begins at 8:00 PM Free admission Books & Books presents an evening book reading in the historic setting of the Deering Estate at Cutler. Editor Les Standiford and contributors to Miami Noir, will read from the new award-winning anthology of original, noir stories set in Miami.

Youth Arts Event February 7, 2007 Palmetto Bay Village Center Doors open at 6:00 PM / Show begins at 7:00 PM $5 (Students free with proper student ID) See our community’s young shining stars perform! Students from Coral Reef Senior High, Southwood Middle and Mays Middle School will present choral, dance and dramatic performances at Palmetto Bay Village Center. This will be an evening of enjoyment for the whole family!

Screen on the Green – A Short Film Festival February 8, 2007 Deering Estate at Cutler Gate opens at 7:00 PM / Films begin at 8:00 PM $10 general admission Content may not be suitable for children under 17 years of age. Parental discretion is advised. Today’s short film cinema is undoubtedly, the nurturing ground of tomorrow’s world-renowned filmmakers. From original scripts, to new cinematography and film techniques, each piece is the result of true emotion and expression. Don’t miss a presentation of the Miami Short Film Festival’s winners out on the lawn of the Deering Estate at Cutler. Guests are invited to bring along blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the evening atmosphere and bay breezes.

7th Annual International Festival February 10, 2007 Palmer Trinity School Gate opens at 12:30 PM / Closes at 5:30 PM $5 general admission* (6 years old and under free) Proceeds from the event support Palmer Trinity School’s commitment to multicultural initiatives and diversity, as well as their longstanding relationship with a Colombian children’s organization, Fundacion Nutrinfantil*. The 7th Annual International Festival celebrates Palmer Trinity School’s vibrant multicultural community by showcasing all that makes this School a dynamic international crossroads. Savory food choices at more than thirty unique booths, along with an array of worldwide crafts, transform the School courtyard into a bustling marketplace. In addition, musical and dance performances, foreign language sessions, creative arts activities and other talented offerings provide the International Festival with its rich program. EDGE Theatre Performance February 10, 2007 Palmetto Bay Village Center Doors open at 7:00 PM / Show begins at 8:00 PM $35 general admission Content may not be suitable for children under 17 years of age. Parental discretion is advised. Drama comes to life at Palmetto Bay Village Center with the EDGE Theatre’s presentation of In the Garden by Norman Allen. In the Garden depicts four urban sophisticates whose lives are rocked by the arrival of a young man, Gabe, who is everything but what he seems. With unworldly charisma, Gabe constructs a web of seduction and theology. A professor of philosophy, his fashionista wife, and their glib young friends must rise to the boy's challenges, questioning their lives as they question his very identity. With high comedy and thought-provoking drama, In the Garden is an uber-theatrical rollercoaster ride.

Local jazz pianist Laurence Elder will fill the air with the sounds of romance.
